My boys!

I go to a Zumba class with my mom, and some other ladies from our church every tuesday night. I usually come home to a quiet house, with Noah watching a movie or playing quietly and Joshua sleeping. This week I was suprised to come home to Micah and Joshua sitting on the couch, It was a rough niht for my little guy, I guess he has a hard time going to sleep without me. I was actually a little confused when I saw the two of them sitting on the couch, I felt like my mind was playing tricks on me, Joshua looks so much like Noah did! I felt like Iwas looking at Noah! I literally had to do a double take! Don't make fun of me, I had just worked out... probably just tired, but anyway here are some pictures of my boys yesterday!

Sitting in my special chair watching a movie!

Noah used to make this same face! I have been told my husband did too!
Another one of Joshua being silly! The only difference between my two boys is that Noah didnt have any hair until he was 2!

A day spent with friends!

Monday our friends the Connors came for a visit from Canada. It was a short visit, but our boys were able to have a little play time, and we were able to go out to dinner together!

Noah showing off his gift from Max, a new backpack with a moose on it!

Noah packed up a few toys to take with him!
Here is Noah and sweet Max. They played so well together!

I am so thankful for friends who are also in the ministry, we had a great time of fellowship and look forward to seeing them again. I guess it is time to get our passports...

Thank you Connors!

Happy Birthday Caleb!

Last weekend we went to a birthday for my precious nephew Caleb. We had a great time with our friends from church and their kids. Also it was so fun seeing how excited Caleb was to have everyone there! I think that 6 must be the age when kids finally understand what their birthdays are, he seemed to have a great time!

Star wars is one of Caleb's favorite things right now. We got him this figure and he was pretty excited, although you cant tell by looking at this picture.

Saying, "Thank you!"
Noah and Landon singing " Happy Birthday!"

Getting ready to blow out his candles... actually another little boy beat him to it... and it was awesome!

and of course, a favorite for boys, an pinata!

Happy Birthday Micah!

Yesterday was my husband Micah's 29th birthday. We have had a few days of celebrations for him, Sunday was our family celebration at my in laws house. We had a great meal and a great time. Micah always asks for fajitas for his birthday dinner, so we had that on Sunday.
We also had a huge blessing from out church family on Sunday. The youth group, workers, and parents of the kids all pitched in and bought him a brand new ipad! It is very hard for me to keep a secret from my husband, especially one so exciting, but I did! Luckily I didn't have to keep it for very long! He was absolutely shocked, and so humbled that people would do something like that for him. I am so thankful to everyone who had a part in this amazing gift, it is something I never would have been able to do for him. You all made this a birthday to remember!
Then on his actual birthday we had some friends over to celebrate with us. I tried my hand at making a chocolate cake, the cake was OK, too dense for my tastes, but the frosting... wow! I was very excited that part of my cake turned out! Happy Birthday Micah. I hope your day was perfect. I love you so very much!

Here he is blowing out his candles!

The many faces of Joshua

Here are some great pictures I took of Joshua! He is such a silly boy! I cant believe my baby is almost 10 months old already! Where has the time gone?
This face kind of reminds me of an old man face!

What is he doing?

Look at those big blue eyes!
This is my favorite!

Suprises from Noah

There is never a dull moment in our house, unless my boys are napping at the same time, which doesn't happen very often! Here are some fun pictures I took this week of Noah and all of the silly things he does!

Noah's friend Micah loves to dress in his camo. I don't really know how Noah talked him into letting him wear it but he did! Here he is all decked out!

I posted a while ago about Noah hiding things around the house, I was putting away some linens this week and found Bullseye! I have no idea how long he was in there but It sure made me laugh! Noah was happy to have his friend back too!

Noah loves to play dress up whenever we are at our friends the Caceres house! They have a bunch of costumes he likes to put on. Here is my little cat in the hat! So sweet!

Is it spring yet?

What a crazy winter we have had! This week we have had beautiful sunshine, Hail the size of peas and then last night it did this! Snow Snow Snow!

This is a shot of the snow falling in my backyard last night. Thankfully it wasn't really cold enough to stick. Here is another shot looking out at my backyard, I had the flash turned off just to see how it would turn out, this is what I got! How cool!

My garden

Last year my mother in law did a weekly post called " bloomin Tuesday". I thought it was so fun to see the changes in her garden every week, its amazing how much actually changes! Anyway, I decided to take weekly pictures of my very sad garden... We will see if I can keep up on this one, I may quit posting about it later in the year when you all can see how sad my garden really is! Like I said, I have been told I am not a very good gardener! This week I found some fun things that I would love to share with you!

This is my flowering cherry tree. A few years ago my husband took me to my favorite nursery and I got to pick out two trees, I love the trees that have beautiful flowers so I picked a flowering cherry and a crab apple. Last year my crab apple bloomed beautifully but the leaves shriveled up halfway through the season. I am hoping that it was just in shock from being moved... We will see.

These are my bleeding hearts that I got from my mothers garden! I love these delicate flowers! Gods creation is truly amazing!

The first sign of spring in my garden! My purple crocuses! They make me smile!

Joshua is on the move!

What a busy week it has been! Joshua is officially a crawler. Noah is loving having his brother follow him around the house. I definitely have my hands full trying to keep the house clean, specifically the floors, so that Joshua doesn't have dirty clothes all the time! Here are some of the fun places i found Joshua this week!

Since learning to crawl Joshua is very interested in his doggies! Here he is checking out Maggie and Fullers crate. Maggie doesn't look too sure about her visitor!

Look at how happy he is!

Joshua likes to follow Noah around. Here he is helping Noah vacuum. By helping, I mean eating the food before Noah could clean it up!

His new favorite place! The dog water bowl!

Matthew Jay

I am so amazed by the love of my Lord. Every day I am reminded of his grace in my life. I find we ( especially us women) have such a hard time just trusting that God knows better than we do. We like to have our lives planned in such a way that God must laugh at us. No matter what we plan, His plan is always better for us than anything we can come up with on our own.
For our family this has been a new realization, and very convicting... mostly because we were out of the will of God for our lives for a few years. There was never real peace because we always knew what God wanted us to do, that he wanted me to be at home with our son, but we had no clue how to make that happen. It seemed impossible. after 2 years of begging God to make a way for me to be at home with Noah, Micah decided that I was going to quit my job at Starbucks. I was going to quit the job that provided medical benefits for our family and be at home. Just like that, 2 years of unrest and frustration was gone. Like a blanket had been lifted off of us. God made a way where there seemed to be no way. I know that compared to what some people go through this may seem silly, but it was very real to me. God has taught us that He is in control, not us. We can plan and prepare all we want ( not that planning and preparation isn't profitable) but if it comes at the expense of our obedience to God it is absolutely in vain.
I remember a few years back having these conversations with my sister in law Cammie. As I worked through these issues, we discussed her desire for children. Matt and Cam had been married for a few years and were trying to figure out what God had for them in that area. Cammie desperately wanted children but there were so many unknowns for them that made the decision more difficult than I could imagine. Then, 9 months ago Cammie came to me on a Sunday afternoon while I was catching a few minutes of sleep at my moms house while she (my mom held my new baby Joshua) She whispered ," I'm pregnant! " Just like that God made the decision for them. He was and is always in control, whether we want to believe it or not. Matthew Jay was born a few weeks ago and I am so in love with this little boy. He is such a picture of Gods unmatchable love for us. When I think about that day, 9 months ago I get all teary, Cammie is finally a mommy. Her dream come true.
Here are some pictures of my beautiful nephew, I took way too many, so I am only sharing a few of my favorites!

perfect little fingers...

This one was a bit staged, I so badly wanted to see his hands, luckily he stayed asleep... I suppose Cammie would have been a little unhappy if I had awaken him!

My absolute favorite! he is blowing me a kiss!

Such a beautiful, handsome boy! I love you Matt Cammie and Matthew Jay!
